How long did you bleed after having an IUD placed in?

I posted this earlier this week but it was removed for some reason. I recently got an IUD placed for the first time and I have been bleeding for a week. usually my period is only 3 days so it’s already double the length. I know it is suppose to be irregular the first few months however I wasn’t expecting double the typical amount i have it. how long was your period the first time you had an IUD placed in? i’m just concerned at this point and spoke to my doctor who said it should end soon but i could spot for a while until my next period.
