Can they lay me off work if I miss more then a week of work?

Due to being sick. I have proof I was in emergency room twice. One weekend day, one work day. Is that enough to excuse it?

I think it depends on what state you live in and your employment contract if you have one, my boss has repeatedly fired people for being excessively sick, but it was mainly because they didn’t communicate until weeks later

I think it depends on company policy. I’m an ER nurse. Don’t go back to the RR for it cuz they won’t give you one now, but for future reference, there’s a difference between showing you were in the ER and having a note from the ER saying you can’t work. Anyone can go to the ER and just get discharged, ya know? Not saying you didn’t need to go, but cover yourself next time because that’s how any employer will probably think.

Depends, if you have time saved up, it’s yours to use. I don’t think two days would raise any flags unless you call out frequently. My company doesn’t have separate sick/vacation time it’s just PTO, paid time off. Technically you don’t have to tell anyone why you’re using it

2 days isn’t more than a week? I cannot imagine anyone would get fired for missing 2 days, but people get fired for all kids of shit so idk

Depends what your policy is. I had doctors notes so they couldn’t hold it against me when I was out with HG. As long as I provided documentation from my doctor they had to let it be.
