Babies crawl on their own?

It’s been 3 years since I’ve had a 7 month old lol. Do babies crawl on their own or should we try and show them how to do it? 
My 7 month old knows how to get from sitting position to his knees but then just lays on his belly lol. He tries to move around & pull himself on things lol. He only knows how to roll around & go backwards.

Sit something in front of baby that they usually play with or may be interested in, it’ll push baby to grab it. They start off going backwards though, it’s up to your baby.

My daughter is 8months old and still not crawling. She rolls around everywhere so I think she’s content getting around that way.

My girl was always content doing what she could without really trying anything else out of her conform zone. At 9 months she still wasn't crawling so we bought some big blocks and showed her what to do. We made a game of it and enticed her with her favorite toys. She got the hang of it really quickly. Usually they will do it on your own. My girl was lazy lol. To this day we still have to make everything fun it a game for her to care to try something new

That's something they learn rocking back and forth on knees is the start to crawling we all had to learn hard way with walk and crawling

Yeah they tend to learn on their own but you can assist them in placing toys in front from a distance that isn’t to challenging
