I made a post earlier today about my sons umbilical cord bleeding. It is continuously being caught on his diaper. They go all the way up past his bellybutton, so it keeps catching his cord. He is one week and four days, and weighs 5 pounds. Should I try preemie diapers? I have tried rolling down the newborn diapers, but they don’t stay.

Fold the diaper down in front below the belly button before doing the tabs up.  That’s what we  did with my girls when they were newborns

I told the diaper down and then fasten it. Works the same and keeps it off of their belly button

Could try smaller or try folding the front inwards and down and then fastening right at top like shown in picture:

You can try premie or just roll the top of the diaper down.   My boys were close to 7pounds and I still had to roll them down.

I'd definitely try smaller nappies. The umbilical cord should not be inside the nappy. It needs to stay as dry as possible and if inside the nappy it can end up with pee etc on, and could become infected. It needs to stay as dry as possible, if the nappies are rubbing on it that can cause real irritation.
