Herpes ‼️

So I just found out I have hsv 1&2 . My doctor was pretty rude . She came in and she said hey so remember those swabs we did and I said yeah she said yeah everything came back pretty good and she sat and waiting on a response so I said ok that’s great. Then she said but you do have herpes 1&2 . She didn’t break it down , I don’t know nothing about it so I was like so can you pass it even if you don’t have outbreaks she said yup and walked out on me . Then she came back in to say oh yeah I want to check you for HIV and I told her that I already got that testing and it was negative and she said yeah well I’m going to test you again which is odd because like you just test me for that last week and it was negative. So she was like if you have a painful outbreak let her know and she wlill prescribe me for something so I told her that I had already got an outbreak and can she just go ahead and give me something for it and so she never said what she was sending or how to take it . So I have valacyclovir it says 1 for 3 times a day so I go ahead and start them or only during a outbreak ? Also can someone give me information on it because google is very contradicting one may say this and if you scroll down it says another . I don’t know anything about it I need help .
