When are you summer baby moms sending your daughters to Kindergarten?

I’m torn on whether to send my daughter to kindergarten when she’s young for her grade or old.. she seems like she’s ready, but I don’t want to make her be at a disadvantage compared to her peers due to her being younger..

Do you live in the US? I don’t think you get a choice when to send your child to Kindergarten. I think if your child turns 5 before August 31st you send them to Kinder, if it’s not till after they have to wait a year. I was born in June, I started Kindergarten at 5. My son was born in September, he had to wait a year before starting Kinder... so now he’s always one of the oldest kids in his class.

Neither. I'm homeschooling from 2 years on. Many US states have their own requirements and guidelines for what age is required to be in school. I believe my state is 6-18 yo.

In my state, it’s 5 before August 1st. My son will be 3 July 16th and the cutoff for preschool is August 1st. We’re sending him this year, if possible. 
My daughters were born August 11th in 20 and 21 so unfortunately, we have to wait an entire year to send them each time. Silly how that works! I’d send my middle one early for sure. She is beyond smart. 
They’ll be 5 when they start, but almost 6. My son will be barely 5 when he starts Kinder. He’ll be young in his grade while my other two will be old for their grades.

I like to think about it on the end of graduating high school when they are 17 versus 18. Sending to K earlier means they’ll be graduating high school and (potentially) leaving home a whole year earlier.

I’m debating this as well! My oldest will be 4 this year, his birthday is August 15. Academically he will be more than ready at 5, but at the moment we’re still working on potty training. I’d like him to go to preschool this fall before he would go to school next year. I don’t know if holding him is the right call because I think school will challenge him in a good way. 
It’s such a tough call, but you know your child best! Maybe see if you can talk to someone in your district about it. In my area, I think you can do kindergarten registration and if you decide to pull them for another year, it’s no big deal. Again, your district could be helpful there. Might be a weird question: why is the question only about daughters? Is there a difference to sending a girl or boy to kindergarden? 🙃

My parents waited and I always hated being basically a year older than everyone. It made me feel like everyone thought I was held back. I was so small (still am) my parents thought I'd get picked on so they thought I'd have an easier time with younger kids. But it really just made me bored and I didn't make friends with anyone in my classes.

My July kid will go to kinder next year. Cut off is December 31st so I'm not concerned. My oldest is among the youngest in her class (September birthday) and has excelled in school.
