Pumping to induce labor

I'm currently 38 weeks and I read up that pumping will help induce labor.well I just got me a breast pump,before hand I was not expressing Any form of milk,after pumping for 10 mins I began to express my colostrum.pumping was really helping my contractions along and still is giving them to me without pumping.im completely closed up so I'm trying to get things moving along, but my cousin told me not to do it cause I will run out before my son gets here.im a ftm and I'm not sure of anything so I was looking for people who's done this or can tell me it's fine, what I do put out comes mote from my right breast than left and it's maybe 5 drops and I'm still not actually leaking it just comes when I pump
