Putting Baby To Sleep In Nursery?

My baby boy is 10 days old and we have not gotten much sleep since he has been home from the hospital. Has anyone out their baby to sleep in the nursery by himself and been able to get some sleep?

Baby is 10days old. He NEEDS to be waking at least every 2-3hrs to feed. Waking multiple times is baby’s way of preventing SIDS also. 
Sorry to be so blunt but sleep deprivation is a part of parenting when a newborn. 
Keeping baby in the same room for at least 6months is highly recommended as it reduces the risk of SIDS.

That won’t change sleep patterns lol they wake up constantly when they are newborns so unless your plan was to ignore your child to get sleep (please don’t do this), putting them in a different room won’t change a thing

I moved my son to his crib in his own room at 2 weeks old. Every little sound he made caused me to wake up and I was not sleeping for any longer than 30 minutes at a time because of it. I felt guilty about it but at the same time I knew I needed to be getting longer than 30 minute stretches of sleep to keep functioning.

You’re good to move baby to nursery whenever you’re ready! It likely won’t affect his nighttime schedule though. That’ll go on for at least 6 more months 😂 but it will get easier!

You can put him to sleep in the nursery absolutely if you choose to but he’ll continue to wake every cpl of hours for food, changes, and comfort. It’s just part of the deal. If you think it would improve quality of sleep try it, but I doubt it will increase quantity.

If his snuffling etc is keeping you awake, trying moving a bit further away from him? I moved my baby (albeit at 3 months) to the end of my bed so that I could hear him cry but not every movement.

Are you not getting sleep because you are checking on him often? Regardless of where he sleeps, you’re going to have to get up to feed him every few hours.
You can certainly give it a try! The recommendation to “room in” for at least the first 6m is because studies show that it reduces the risks of SIDS, but SIDS is exceedingly rare, and if you’re not able to sleep with baby in the same room, this may be worth doing.
If you have an extra bedroom, perhaps you and your partner could also do some nights in shifts where you each go sleep in a separate room for a block of time to get some uninterrupted sleep.

My oldest son was in his own room because he didn't sleep at all in my room and my others we didn't because they did fine my if it wasn't for him not sleeping he probably wouldn't of but after switching rooms he slept so much better I just had the baby monitor up by my head turned all the way up
