Baby has flat spot on forehead??

tyra

My daughter is now 5.5 months and

the left side of her forehead/eyebrow area is flat. It causes an asymmetry and one of her eyebrows and eye to look different than the other.

Looking back I can see it has been like this since birth, but I only noticed it when it was pointed out to me by my midwife when she was around 4weeks old. It was very slight before but now of course as her head/skull grows it’s more apparent.

My midwife had recommended i go to my Pediatrician to get it checked out. So we went and she was sent to get x-rays of her head to rule out craniosynotosis (premature fusing of the sutures). The results came back and her sutures were and still are open. So there was no medical issue thankfully. They also ruled out torticollis.

Both the Pediatrician and my family doctor have said there is nothing to be concerned about, they see this often in infants and they usually just outgrow it as the skull continues to grow. But I have seen no changes at all and she will be 6 months in April. Just a bit worried.

I just am wondering if any other moms have had a baby with this and if they ended up outgrowing it ?

To ease my worries, my Pediatrician gave me a referral to the plagiocephaly department in the Children’s hospital in case if it is just cosmetic and can be corrected. I am waiting for their call , it’s been almost a month and I haven’t heard anything yet.

Just worried 😅 I can’t seem to find much online about it. Most of what I see online is the flat spot on the back of the head or other positional things

Has anyone else’s little one had this and did they outgrow it?

Thanks in advance ❤️
