Should I say something?

My husbands brother sent a video of his daughter in the car on our Facebook group chat & I noticed her straps aren’t on correctly.. should I say something? (He’s not the nicest person when it comes to advice)

This is not about shaming, it's about the safety of the child. Even if you catch sh*t for it you say something.

If you are in a country where they drive on the right, I would definitely say something. Filming while driving is unsafe, so she better be strapped in properly!

I remember once sending a photo of my child in her car seat to my sister. My sister immediately told me the chest clip was too low. 
I was mortified, but grateful she told me. My daughters safety is more important to me than my pride. I would hope he would feel the same way. He may be embarrassed so expect that.

I had kids way before my older sister who’s 6 years older than me and I refrain from giving her advice because I don’t want to come across as smug but this is the one thing I didn’t hold my tongue on. I had to tell her that the straps on her car seat were way too low because my niece’s safety and life mean more to me than my sisters feelings on something I said. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The head rest needs to be moved up, straps fixed, chest clip and no coat on. I’d personally feel better saying something rather than saying nothing even if they get mad. You could offer to show him in person.

I would definitely say something, but phrase it more like, “wow, has she learned how to undo the straps? That must be frustrating!” That way hopefully he won’t take it the wrong way, but you have pointed out that she is buckled wrong.
