Madeline Roe Birth Story 39 weeks

At 1015 on Easter morning my water broke while at my mother in laws house ( at least she has tile). We were in the middle of hunting for eggs. We got my 3 yr old daughter ready for my moms and headed to the hospital about an hour later. They confirmed that my water did break and checked and I was 3 cm dilated at that point ,1230pm. After that check the rest of my waters broke and contractions started. My contractions were strong and 2-3 minutes apart. At 115pm I told Ryan (my husband) I wanted to labor at least 30 more minutes before getting the epidural because we just got to the hospital but 10 minutes later I was like I don’t think I can wait that long. I was able to get the epidural by 2pm through back to back contractions. I had never felt contractions that strong. I labored with my first daughter for 24 hrs to 5 cm and had nothing compared to this. A couple brought tears to my eyes. The epidural helped but after 30 minutes I felt intense pressure. My nurse checked and I was 10cm. Everyone was shocked especially Ryan and I, we just looked at each other and started laughing. The nurses were running around trying to get everything ready. Ryan was amazing the whole time, so calm and supportive. We started pushing at 250 and she joined the world at 317pm. The nurses and doctor were so encouraging and supportive. It was a very happy and enjoyable experience. We had a great first night, she latched like a pro and slept well. I struggled with breastfeeding with my first and this was such a different experience. Ryan and I are so happy our family is complete. The nurses said she came out like super woman … with an arm straight and fist first. I expect amazing things from this little super girl.
