Wonderful birth experience
I had my baby on Friday. I had went in my doctors on Tuesday before and had a membrane sweep I was dilated to 2 and effaced 70. Due to gestational diabetes he said he would induce me on Friday at 38+6 weeks. I lost my mucus plug on Thursday. After the sweep I was in so much pain could barely walk. Had contractions which I thought was BH because they were always 5-15 mins apart those started early Thursday morning at 3am went away around 6am. Had a few during the day. Then during the night around 2am woke up again with the same kinda contractions. I had to be at hospital for my induction at 5:30am. Got to the hospital got put on IV at 6am was going to get Pitocin started at 7am. The nurses decided to check me because I was having contractions already 3-12 mins apart and were so painful. I was checked and was told I was already a 6 and in active labor. They went to notify doctor and to get everything started. Doc said I didn’t even need Pitocin it was already 9am I believe. Rested about an hour. They came in again to do a catheter and break my water. They said they couldn’t put in catheter because baby was so low. At that moment my water broke and I was already dilated to 9-9.5. They quickly started paging doctor because 15 mins later started feeling a lot of pressure. Baby arrived at 10:55am. So had no need for an actual induction. Just wanted to share my experience. And let you guys know that contractions don’t always have to be ever 5 mins to go get checked. Sometimes mine were 20 mins apart.
