What does it mean nuchal fold measurement 8.0

Question

What does it mean nuchal fold measurement I did genetic test at 10 weeks and everything was normal. Today I did my 20 weeks ultrasound and I found out I’m measuring 2 weeks early and my baby nasal bone measures 8.8mm anyone was ever in a similar situation and everything turned normal after the baby is born?

Doctor said he is not worried since everything was at low risk at my 10 weeks genetic test. I will have to to my OB on my 22 weeks visit. I hope everything is ok

Nucheal fold is on the higher side, but many babies have that and are totally healthy. It can indicate higher risk for chromosomal issues but generally only in the presence of other abnormal tests.

We didn't have an issue with her nasal bone (so I don't know what is considered abnormal other than it being absent) but our 20 week ultrasound had an echogenic bowel, choriod plexus cysts, and borderline ventricularmegaly. They were concerned enough to refer us to the genetics program and a fetal neurologist but it turned out to be ok. The soft markers can suggest a higher chance of something being up but it doesn't mean that it is for sure. Have they spoken to you about it yet?
