Is it safe to take hydrocodone/lortabs while pregnant?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and my doctor put me on 5 mg of hydrocodone for my sciatic nerve pain.. Will this hurt my baby?

If your doctor gave them to you I would guess he knows your pregnant? They wouldn't give them to you without it being safe.

Does your doctor know that you are pregnant? If not, then talk to them first. It's a class C drug which means it should only be given if the benefits outweigh the risks during pregnancy; however, I am not your doctor. Your doctor knows your situation. No, 5 mg won't hurt the baby. I was on those for tooth pain when I was pregnant with my daughter.

Every person different. There is a risk your baby could be born addicted and will have to go through withdrawal.  Just because another baby was born fine on this dosage doesn't mean anything. I've had babies go through withdrawal on a lot less.

I never once no matter how much pain I was in took the narcotics they prescribed me while pregnant because I was afraid they'd hurt my son or cause him to be addicted
