Is it normal?

My husband and me are trying for a baby. I have been on bc for 6 years. We after 2 and a half years of marriage believe we are ready. We got off birth control back in January and I had my normal period on the pill at the end of the pack. After 4 months I still have yet to have a period. We are not pregnant we test once a week. I know it takes a minute for it to come back but 4 months. Is there something wrong with me and can I get pregnant if I can't have a normal period.

When I was ttc, I went of my birth control, had my first period, then the next one was after about 6 weeks, then nothing. I went to the doctor around 5-6 months after my last period and had some blood work done. I had high testosterone, so my doctor diagnosed me with PCOS (I guess my birth control helped self-medicate that), so she gave me a 10 day prescription for progesterone, which helped get my hormones back in balance. That was around when the Covid vaccine was about to be available, so we decided to wait to try again until we were fully inoculated. The first cycle we tried again, I got pregnant and now have a two month old daughter.
I would recommend reaching out to your doctor. Your body may just need some time to self-regulate, or it may need some help like mine did. Not all women’s bodies take time to be fertile after going off birth control. My mom got pregnant with my older brother when she missed a day or two of the pill. My best friend got pregnant with her daughter her first cycle off the pill when she was dealing with another health issue.

It's the birth control. I was on it for years when I was younger, it took me a few years to concieve after I got off. Keep trying and taking care of yourself. Your body will regulate.

It's common. It can take a year or more for your body to regulate hormones again after stopping birth control.

Yes you are just going through the normal delay of trying to regulate coming off the pill I was 4 months before I got a period it can take time, if you concerned go and talk to your doctor
