Why multiple tests?

First off. No I am not a mother. But I was wondering why does literally every mother take multiple tests? I understand different days of the week or weeks to make sure it’s correct, but I’ve seen women take like 5 of them. At least 2 should be accurate?? Are you in denial? (not in a bad way) :)

This kind of question is one where answers are emotionally loaded and you really should just keep this kind of curiosity to yourself. It's fine to wonder but do it quietly. It's very dismissively written and will get very charged in the responses from people. Most of those people will be those that struggle with conceiving and this is just adding salt to their wounds. Personally, I think it's best to just take this down.

Try for more than a decade unsuccessfully and then come back and ask why someone would want or need the confirmation or reassurance.

Lol when I got pregnant my doctor told me that most women he’s seen take around 5-6! I think it’s denial for some people and for other people it’s reassurance that it’s really happening and you’re definitely pregnant.

reassurance and also when you've been TTC and want it really bad a lot of women like seeing the lines pop up and/or seeing the progression. not to mention how many people that have experienced loss

Coming from someone who's never had to experience shock finding out they are pregnant or someone who's never struggled to get pregnant I feel like asking women this question is ignorant

Some women track line progression because they think a darker line every day means the pregnancy is viable, as opposed to a chemical or impending loss. Some of these women have experienced miscarriages in the past and it makes them feel reassured to see the lines getting darker.

Technically 1 out of 4 pregnancies will end in miscarriage. It sadly happens often. It can be reassurance for newly pregnant moms because most happen before 12 weeks.

Not every mother does this. I only took one. I know my body pretty well and I had symptoms a couple days after my missed period. I waited a week just to make sure my period didn't come even though it's never late and took the test. Once it said pregnant I called my ob to make my first appointment

In the beginning there’s sometimes no symptoms and no dr appointments. Testing is the only sign and reassurance there is. I would do once a week until the first appointment 🤷‍♀️
