When do boys stand up to pee

Question

My son is almost 6 and still sits when he pees. That’s just how we taught him, I wonder when boys start to stand up but I think that’s a learned thing right? 
They should start that from the beginning? 
How is he going to change the sitting down habit now after a few years of sitting? 
I’m confused someone help lol. I’m feeling bad I taught him to sit but I didn’t think anything about it at the time.

There’s nothing wrong with sitting to pee. I’d just wait until he expresses he wants to do it.

My husband is 28 and pees sitting down. My kids all sit oldest is 12. If we are out somewhere and they need to pee they can pre standing.

Mine don’t. They sit to poop then they can sit to pee. Unless they’re outside or using a gross public bathroom. My brothers sit too. Your future daughter in law will thank you when there’s not pee all over the floor.

Sitting is better and cleaner. No need to rush the standing to pee. 
My husband still likes to sit and pee pretty frequently.
I’d wait until he shows an interest. You can also let him pee outside (if weather permits and you have a private space to do so).

My son is 8 and prefers to pee sitting down but will also stand to pee as well. My partner stands to pee but when he feeling lazy of standing he then sits too pee.
