Uti treatment?

Have had horrible itching for 3 weeks.  Went away second week while I had my period and came back as soon as it ended.  Took a home azo test and came back positive for possible uti.  Problem is I’m allergic to Bactrim which is the usual treatment.  I’ve never had a uti before.  How do you get rid of it if you’re allergic to the antibiotic?

I’ve had many utis and with my experience at least itching is not related to a uti. I could be wrong but sounds more like a yeast infection.

Try another antibiotic. There’s quite a few different ones you can get prescribed.

Doctors can prescribe several different antibiotics. They can also get a urine culture and sensitivity test to see which antibiotics would be most effective in treating your specific bacteria. Keep drinking lots of water and go into your gp or a clinic. I am allergic to half of the pregnancy safe antibiotics and they still managed to find one that worked for me :)

Itching could be yeast infection
Urinary tract infection makes you pee a lot and may be painful when you pee.
The first is treated with cream and 1 tablet
UTI is treated with antibiotics
Go to doctors and do not treat yourself at home ( wrongly)

There are tons of different antibiotics for UTIs. I usually take azithromycin. You need to go to the doctor.
