Would you carry your sister's baby to help her out because she's infertile?

If you could help your sister carry her fertilised embryo to birth, would you do it? Have anyone done it? Wouldn't you grow attached to the baby in the womb and constantly having to look at your niece and feeling the strong attachment?

I would love to help, but I know I couldn't. I suck at being pregnant in general and I couldn't give up the child afterwards.
I would have to help some other way instead.

Me and my sister are super close if she couldn’t carry her own I’d absolutely help. I wouldn’t be attached as a mother but a aunt and I think that would be pretty cool on it’s own.

I’d help if I could and that’s all there is. It won’t be my baby so I’d cut any attachment I’d probably feel.

Not a chance. I have hyperemisis gravidarum from my own pregnancy and don’t even plan on having a second baby once this is done. So not a shot in hell I’d be my sisters surrogate, on top of that we’re not even close enough that she’d ask. We live maybe 40 minutes from each other and have seen each other maybe once in person in the last 2 years. ￼

If I could I would do it, medically wouldn’t be able to sadly. I can fully understand why people wouldn’t want to do it though.
I actually have family members that did though. (I’m gonna use first initials for privacy reasons)
So my Aunt M and Uncle S couldn’t have kids on their own, my aunt had ovarian cancer which was the main cause and a few other issues that made it so she couldn’t carry a baby to term if she were to even get pregnant naturally. My Uncle M (my Aunt M’s brother) and Aunt J wanted to help them out so they offered to be a surrogate for them and got all the medical stuff done to do so. They have 3 kids and were done having kids of their own. My Aunt M and Uncle S wanted to attempt twins so they could just have it be one time and done. They had twin boys who are turning 10 this year.

If I ever had the opportunity to do it I would hands down do it. For a sister who can’t experience it for herself but is wanting a child so badly I would. I feel you would have strong feelings towards the child but it’s your family member and you will see them and watch them grow. You would have created such a special bound between yourself and your sister and her baby.

I think I would. Although I don’t have a sister so hard to say for sure. Many people feel a very strong attachment to nieces and nephews anyways so I don’t think that is too much of an issue. I think it’s more about your relationship with your sister and her partner that sways this decision.

Absolutely.  It would kill me that we live states away though.  Undoubtedly I’d have a strong connection to her child having carried them.
