How can I make this look better?

I don’t hate it but it looks off too me. I had a hard time judging where to lay it and in what shape. So what do you all think. What placements would be best. Also how do I make it look not so muted. I’m using a morphe pallet and their eyeshadow primer.
Also what should I do to the lower part of my eye. I never know what to do so I leave it undone but that doesn’t look very nice.

Checkout makeup artist Elle Leary on youtube. She s an expert esthetitian also. She is older ( like me in her 40s ) so she does mostly day to day looks but she tries to make it simple. You can put a lighter color to add a pop in the middle of the upper lid n use a white or off white color for the corner of the eye. Also some eyeliner which can be done w dark grey / black shadow to look softer. You d look good in a deep orange too...use a small brush to get some color under the eye. Can be the same as your base color on the top...For a pop add a lash to the top..opens the eye alot..My apologies fkr the run on sw trance it s early n I'm chasing kiddos

Add a darker shade to the outer corner of your eye but only a small bit . Don’t pack it on your whole eyelid just put it as close to your lash line as you can. Then use the lighter shade and blend! Try blending lightly out towards your temples ( same direction as you’d put eyeliner) and use your finger to lightly Pat a nice shimmery shade onto the inner corner/ middle of your eyelid but don’t blend it above the crease of your eye. Use whatever product is left on your blending brush on your bottom eyelid - try looking up while doing this and get as close to your waterline as possible
