Tubes Tied?

Question

I see a lot of mixed feelings about getting tubes tied. I want others personal opinion? How was it? How was the recovery? Any complications? Anyone know why people feel negatively about it? What can I do if I can’t find someone who will do it? Im young (early 20s) but I have kids. 
I’ve talked to my husband about a vasectomy and he’s not really for it but hasn’t said no yet. He is thinking about it.

I was going to get mine done . Mind you i just turned 32 , but my bf got a vasectomy  so much easier for them to get it done . Literally  takes the dr 10 minutes  to do theirs . Im glad he got it done because I definitely  dont want anyone kids and its one less thing i have to do

People mostly feel negatively about it because it’s a major surgery with all the risks and potential complications that go with that, as well as a more extensive recovery process. Compared to a vasectomy, which is a out patient procedure completed in a few minutes with very little down time. A vasectomy makes much more sense for most couples. It’s also VERY VERY hard to get a doctor to tie your tubes in your 20s. It shouldn’t be, but it is. But only you and your SO can decide what’s best for your specific circumstances.

I asked for my tubes to be tied at 23 and the doctor told me no because I was still young and might want more kids.

My friend had hers done and didn’t have any complications. She got hers done at 23 but had 3 kids by then so I’m sure that’s why they didn’t give her any issues. We’re 28 now and she still doesn’t have any regrets. She said she knew she couldn’t handle more than 3 and still feels that way. I have 2 kids but want at least 1 more. I go back and forth between a tubal and the paragard IUD which is what I’m currently using. I just don’t want any regrets and/or my body to react negatively to the procedure.

I’m getting a tubal ligation in July when I have my C-Section, tubal ligation isn’t a major surgery at all and easy recovery people get mixed up with tubal ligation and a hysterectomy ( things can go wrong just like any surgery one has or even child birth or vasectomy ) . Hysterectomy is the one that’s major surgery. The only down side to having tubal ligation is that after a few years the tubes can possibly rejoin ( vary vary rare ) or a ectopic pregnancy ( vary vary rare ) and that can still happen to someone even if they don’t have a tubal ligation. I’m looking forward to getting mine I’m 35yo with kids

I got my tubes done 10/05/2016 (4th child). The first few years was okay until 07/2021, I bled all the way up to 3/2/2022, I had to get my tubes untied (own $). My doctor tried IUD,shots,pills. Nothing worked. Was at risk for cervical cancer and cyst on my ovaries. I don’t have any pain during cycle anymore & Now I have normal cycles and feel way better than I did when they were tied.

Don't do it, rather use a contraceptive: IUD or implanon. I sterilised and now I regret, mind you I was 30 and married at the time.
