Sharp Pain - Left Side

Last night around 10 pm I was laying in bed when I felt a sharp pain on my left side. It started to get very dizzy and got up to go to the washroom and ended up puking twice. The pain went away after a few minutes and I went to bed. Again I woke up around 1 am to the sharp pain though not as severe as last time. The pain went away after a few minutes once I flipped over the laying on my right hand side.

Any clues what this could be? Should I be concerned? The pain was only on my left side about a hand length (3 or 4 inches) above my hip and the same distance from my belly button. So the best position I can describe it as would be in the middle of my left hand side if that makes any sense.
