Dropping night feed at 8 months
Any advice for trying to drop the last night feed? My LO is 8 months old and has more than doubled his birth weight. He is has solid foods about 2-3 times a day. The pediatricians recommends dropping his last night feed by 9 months.
I feed him for the last time around 6:30 pm before putting him down for the night. He will wake up between somewhere 12:30-3:00 AM at night for a feed. He has dinner at 5:00 PM and has a good meal with carbs and protein.
I’ve tried lengthening my day feeding to about every 4 hours, waiting until at least 2:30 AM to feed, and am currently trying to decrease the feed time, but he is protesting at 11 mins. I tried just stopping cold turkey, be he will cry for 2+ hours until I give in and feed him. Giving him a pacifier doesn’t work either.
Seems like maybe he just isn’t ready, but I don’t know. Maybe try a dream feed at 10? Then try dropping that after a few weeks? Suggestions appreciated.
