Should i still hope?

I am 42 and now 9 days late. Since my first pregnancy my cycle is super steady 25-27 days. I am now late and i took a test on day one and day 7 but it was negative. I have cramping coming and going for a week. I had light red when I wiped one day before expected af. Today my nipples are itchy and in pain. My cervix is extra high with a lot of discharge when around af it's low and dry.my doc said to take a test tomorrow and if it's negative to go see him. But something is off. Has anyone had similar experience and was pregnant??? Or is it too late for me??
