Finger got chopped off

Advice plz. My older brother slammed his door and his door chopped his finger tip off. He was in so much pain and the hospital we took him to wasn’t very helpful so rude and unprofessional very unsanitary as well. Anyways my question is they said they can’t stitch his finger tip on bc it would be dead tissue it’s too small of a piece. They sent him home and told him it would heal on its own. Now should he see another dr ? Do you think they need to stitch him up? They only sent him home w pain meds and gauze for hit chopped up finger and blood was everywhere like non stop bleeding
