What food can you give an 8 month

old baby? Besides gerber and rice cereal. My baby seems to have lots of interest in the food we eat we give her little pieces of some stuff but i'm scared of giving her just anything. Can I give her mashed foods ? The only thing I can think of is mashed potatoes. Also no chopped food yet right ? She only has 1 tooth.

Give her whatever :) (soft, mashed up, etc). Look up baby led weaning. My girl was eating avocados, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, steamed/mashed carrots, banana cut into small pieces, frozen pieces of fruit like mangoes and strawberries to gnaw on under my supervision (good for teething).  Basically whatever I had on my plate but mashed up. I did (and do) a lot of steamed vegetables so that part was easy.

My nephew ate table food before baby food, then he wouldn't eat the baby food ! 😂,, so he's been grubbing since 6 or 7 mths old .. Of course we mash or chew his foods before consumption .. But I think you can feed your baby anything! We do not feed him peanuts and strawberries though for risk of allergy .

Many parents follow the babyled weaning if you want to check it out. Basically you feed them what they seem to want off your plate but keep an eye on them and make sure foods are soft.

You can use a food processor and make anything small enough to eat. My kids never ate baby food and was eating whatever we ate by 8 months.

Just make sure it's soft prices that are cut up and let the baby go at it!! My son who is a year on Sunday has been eating table good since 7 months. They don't chew with those front teeth anyway.

Anything really that's soft enough for them to gum around. Just make sure it's a small piece of whatever it is. I did a lot of Pinterest research for ideas and found some great options!

Whatever they want as long as it's small pieces they won't choke on (don't feed them grapes, lots of kids choke on grapes because they're too big, you'd have to cut them up).
