Soooo,I hope this is the correct room to post as I'm looking for advice

My husband and I sent our 13 yr old daughter and 14 yr old niece to a sleep away camp for 2 weeks,it cost $2500 per child so $5000 total.. On the camps website they offer canoeing,water slides,wild west shows,goldmining,rope obstacle course,petting zoo and horse back riding along with other activities. Now the activities I mentioned above were not even offered to the girls or they were not allowed to do them. With the exception of 2,those two are horse-back riding and the petting zoo. The horse-back riding was the horses just walking in a circle around the camp and they did the petting zoo for one day but neither of the girls even knew that it was taking place as no one told them so they missed out.

As far as the other activities mentioned above they just didn't happen. The rope obstacle course was their but they were told due to liability they are not allowed on it and they took the kids to the lake where they thought they were going to be allowed to swim in the water and go canoeing. When they arrived at the lake they were told no canoeing and they were not allowed in the water so they just sat around until lunch time. Mind you,the website mentions brining bathing suits and water shoes but they did not one water activity. The website mentions a fire circle and fire activites (which I would assume smores) but for 2 weeks they didn't have not one camp fire which I find odd since it's typically what you do while camping. The website mentions use of Washers and Dryers so I only packed 1 weeks worth of clothes for each girl but the girls said no one did any laundry and it wasn't mentioned so they wore dirty clothes for the second week.

The website mentions a "bubble party" but it was just each campers receiving a bottle of bubbles to play with. The website mentions "sports" such as tug of war and flag football but all they did was hand soccer.Website mentioned nature hikes along trails but my daughter said the camp counselors didnt do it and that the kids just took off on walks by themselves.

Lastly,the girls went to the vending machine to purchase snacks and the food in the machine was expired by a year! My daughter got a can of doctor pepper and the rim had mold all on it and the popcorn was so expired it didn't even pop in the microwave😳 They did have a gift shop with additional snacks that were not expired

Now,what they did do was arts and crafts (make an acorn into a bird), a talent show that the kids planned themselves, archery,astronomy(looking through telescopes)outside movie,laser tag,nerf gun war,boardgames and a foam party.

Both girls called several times a week stating that another day has gone by and they only did one activity such as a nerf gun fight and they sat around the rest of the day,most of the time just bored.

The girls said the meals were really good and they looked forward to eating so that was good. They made friends and had fun sometimes but said they were really looking forward to the other activities but they just didn't happen. I mentioned to each girl when they called me complaining saying that this experience is what they make of it but at the same time I understand their dissapointment.

Should I reach out to the camp and express my dissapointment for what we paid? Should I ask for a refund for activities mentioned but never done? I feel like their website was false advertisement and we were misled😬

*edit* one last thing! The cabin my girls were in was the "older girls cabin". A camp counselor smelled "weed" and called the girls out in the cabin. Next morning each girl was taken to the nurses office where they said they would be drug tested(trying to scare them into saying whose smoking). While in the nurses office their belongings were rummaged through,looking for weed. My daughter called me upset saying they were being accused,the counselors were being rude to them and she had her feelings hurt. Several days go by they still smell it and they move the girls to another cabin. Turns put no one was smoking weed and the cabin just smelled like skunk🤦🏽‍♀️
