Social Services Scope and Accessibility

With yesterday’s RvW bombshell, and the increased cost of living (a global issue), I’m hearing a lot of comments about what resources should be provided to those financially struggling.

Some points to address:

What should our social safety net look like?

What should, and should not be covered?

How easy or difficult should it be to access and remain on support programs?

Do you have any personal experience with the current system you feel comfortable sharing. If so, what helped, and what would you change?

*While the added strain to the system of forced births is relevant and worth discussing here, please don’t use this post to debate the morality/legally of abortion. I’d like this to remain up, and there are other current posts to do that on.
