Veterinarian tech yelled at me over the phone… was I wrong?

My dog has seen the same vet for the past 4 years. We really like her. Last year we moved to another city. Before we left I stocked up on her flea and heartworm medication from the vet’s office. I was down to my last pill of the flea medication NexGard so I called the office for a refill. She quoted me $100 for a 3 months supply! I was like wow that sure has gone up in price… she started talking about supply issues and that’s why. I was like “okay just fill it and I’ll try to drive down there sometime this week as we live in another city now”. She was like okay and then hung up.

Later that day I was telling my husband about it and he was like that’s way too expensive, why don’t we check 1800 Pet Meds or Chewy for a lower price? I was like hm yeah that’s a good idea. 1800 PetMeds had the same 3 months supply for $68!! So I immediately ordered it. The next day I got a phone call from the vet’s office. The woman on the phone was like “I just got a request from Pet Meds to refill this prescription for your dog? But you called the other day and had us refill it.” I said “oh shoot I’m sorry I didn’t call you all back and tell you I was going to order online for a cheaper price.” Then she randomly lost it on me. She raised her voice and was like “WHY DID YOU HAVE US FILL THIS PRESCRIPTION IF YOU WERE JUST GOING TO ORDER ONLINE? THAT WAS SUCH A WASTE OF MY TIME!!” I was sooo taken aback that I apologized again and again and was like “it’s not a speciality medication, it’s literally just a pre packed box of three gummies…” and she blew up again and was like “YEAH WELL THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME AGAIN” and hung up!

Like I realize I guess I should have told them my intention was to order online but was yelling at me really warranted? She was so pissed off. It’s not a complicated prescription for anyone with dogs or cats will know. This is all it is:
