What to do?

Im married to an American man. We visit my home country once a year. My husband is a huge talker. My country is economically poor. My husband has offered to help certain people, 2 people specifically on our last trip. The problem is he then complains to me when the people reach out to even say hello because they are probably hinting on or making sure he doesn’t forget. My husband is so rude about it, he also brings my family up who never asked for his help, but he offered to do something and he brings this up in arguments. My family is doing okay there and in my opinion better but because we live in america they think we are doing well even thou we are actually staying with my mom right now lol. Anyway i told my husband to stop promising things and just give something on he actually has it. We visited my old school where i donated 200 backpacks. They think he donated them but thats a different story. My husband then asks the school what they need, so they told him they could use a pump for water, its been almost 2 months now and he acts annoying that they are following up. Im so fed up
