Considering that you don't implant until 6DPO at the earliest but as late as 12DPO, and it takes a few days after that for hCG to rise to detectable levels, at the very earliest you'd get a faint positive result is 8-9DPO. Waiting until 11DPO is better as implantation is most likely to occur at 9DPO. If you test early, it's important not to get discouraged and recognise that you may not have implanted yet.
