Sick baby ☹️

Emily

My son is 3 weeks old and tested positive for RSV today. On Monday he was diagnosed with “newborn cold” and wasn’t getting any better so we went back to his pediatrician today. He has not had a fever at all, just coughing, stuffy/runny nose (mainly dry but would run a little bit sometimes) and rattle in his chest. From Monday to this morning we were spraying his nose with saline and sucking out mucus and running a cool air humidifier with Vicks packs. Today his pediatrician prescribed him steroids, antibiotics and albuterol for breathing treatments and told us to continue what we have been doing on top of the newly added treatments.

As a first time mommy I’m terrified for my baby. Have any other moms experienced RSV with their babies this young? Any helpful tips and pointers are greatly appreciated!
