Would you let your child have a YouTube channel?

My 4 year old really wants his own YouTube channel where he films his Hotwheel cars. He loves to record himself and take pictures/videos. No face shown, just hands and voice. Would you allow this? 🤔

I would not. I don't believe the internet is any place for a 4 year old, supervised or not. I would still let him make his own videos but I would absolutely not allow them to be posted online.

I wouldn’t be comfortable with letting my son have his own channel, but if he was interested in learning to make movies I would get him some movie making apps to play with so when he’s older if he still likes that he can have his own channel

If you're in complete control of it sure. I wouldn't give him login information until he's much older. Basically make it your channel more or less.

If his name isn’t part of the channel, he’s not identifiable, and personal information is never shared, yes. IF my husband and I were in charge of the channel and regulated everything he saw/uploaded.

I would definitely get him a kids camera and encourage the interest there but I don’t think a 4 year old needs to be anywhere near YouTube, especially uploading content! It seems a bit young to me 😊 my 6 year old loves making videos so he has a vtech camera but he just watches them back on the camera and it has no internet connection so it’s really safe!
