Planned Parenthood Drama…

So yesterday I had an appointment to confirm my pregnancy at one of these centers. I don’t have health insurance and I can’t get it until I have proof from a doctors office that I am in fact pregnant. Well I pull up to the building and notice protesters out there. Not thinking anything of it bc I’m not going in there for that I start walking in minding my business, only to be yelled at by one of the sign holders “MAKE BETTER CHOICES”. it took me by surprise and I didn’t know what to say I just turned and looked at her and she yelled it again. My hormones are crazy right now, I could feel my heart beginning to beat out of my chest and I started shaking. Like how dare this woman who knows nothing about me assume I’m going in there for an abortion! I yelled back at her you do realize they offer regular gynecological services?! She says “oh sorry hope everything goes well”. I got even more angry and said I shouldn’t have to say anything to you it’s none of your business!! After walking in I was so flustered I asked the front desk if those people are always out there and they started laughing. Then proceeded to tell me I didn’t have an appointment when I certainly booked one. Then yelled at me bc in the panic of running in there past the crazies I forgot to put my mask on. It was probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a medical office , ever. What really bothers me is the protester, I’m pro life but I also think people can make their own choices. But did this woman really think yelling at a stranger if I was going in for something like that- it would change my mind? No if anything you’re just pissing people off. Instead why not offer a paper with programs to help these women instead of screaming judgments?! Or words of encouragement . It seemed to me these protesters like feeling they have the moral high ground to pass condemnation onto others they view beneath them. If it was really grounded in love it would NOT have gone down like that. I’m sort of glad it happened bc it opened my eyes to the crazy that’s out there. What are your thoughts? Should people be allowed to harass others going into doctors appointments?
