Not walking yet?

My LO is 15 months old and doesn’t walk yet, just knee walks. anyone else have a knee walker? Anyone else had a late walker? Any advice/tip???

Uhhhh bring that up to there pediatrician. Thats not a normal behavior of a 15 month old. That can indicate they have something wrong with tendons/ ligaments/ muscles in their lower leg or ankle. Does he stand and walk normal with help? If not you really need to being it up to his pediatrician. Walking can take up to 18 months, at the late end of it, but knee walking isnt normal

My second started walking around 14-16 weeks. So different from my first. Even once he started walking he was so unstable at first, while my first was like a pro. Every child is different. If you are worried, you can always talk to your pediatrician!

I have a Knee walker who just went full walking right around 15 months. Hers was a social issue. At home, we would walk with her hands, make it a game to get to meals, and eventually her first “steps” were over 40 steps and fast. She now walks everywhere, including daycare which took slightly longer. Knee walking can be a sign of ankle instability, but not always. Her teachers and doctors say she is significantly stronger than anyone else in her age range. You can do shoes, but be cautious as they can cause different issues. We did them as another game and shoes meant more fun surfaces. We also did push and pull toys, sitting to standing from boxes/her chair, and other things to help her get used to the movements.

Not walking isn't a concern until 18 months, at least according to my pediatrician. My youngest son didn't walk until 16 months. I would recommend talking to your pediatrician about the knee walking, though. I'm not sure if that's normal behavior or not, I've never known a toddler who knee walked. That might be something that requires PT.

Two of my kids didn’t start walking til after they turned 15 months. I have known others to not walk til 18 months. Every baby is different. The fact that you’re is knee walking tells me they may walk real soon as they already know how to move upright. Just encourage your baby to walk while holding your hand/s and s/he’ll get the hang of it before you know it
