Anyone here own a staffordshire bull terrier?

Question

Thinking of getting a Staffy but looking for input.  We have small children but I’ve heard staffies are normally great with kids. Is this true? If we got one it would be a puppy so it would grow up with our children. If you own one feel free to share a pic 😊

We have two and my favorite dogs. We rescued them from terrible conditions so they needed extra training and lots of love. Diesel is a snuggle bug and Bella is always watching over my niece. She follows her around everywhere.
My cockapoo is the witch and the one we have to look after lol.

I have a rescue staffy but she's lived with my parents for years now - they have a house with a big garden and I live in an apartment in the city. She'd hate it here. She is exceptionally loyal and affectionate but being a country dog we let her down by failing to socialise her with other dogs outside of her "pack". She can be aggressive with animals and people she doesn't know. This is a failing in our training rather than a failing in her. She's the best at snuggling and the ultimate hot water bottle.

I don't have a staffordshire bull terrier but I had an american staffordshire terrier a few years back. He was one of the two most obedient and smart dogs I have ever owned (the other was an australian cattle dog.) He picked up on commands very quickly and was very patient. I had him years before I had children though and be was gone by the time I had kids. My mom thought he was scary looking but honestly, he was one of the biggest sissies I've ever had. He was scared of water, brooms, frogs. Preferred to feed the big dummy outside but had to start feeding him inside because he'd let the stray cats he shared his dog house with bully him out of his food. 
We thought about getting another when we were ready for another dog. But tbh, even though most of them are great with kids, I personally didn't feel comfortable with having a high energy, high prey driven breed of any size. But I have multiple young children, one of which is nonverbal autistic and less likely to understand boundaries. We ended up with a great dane and he's super fantastic with our kids. Second dumbest dog I've very had though.
