Wi-Fi baby monitors? Still bad?

How do we feel about Wi-Fi baby monitors? Are they still bad? I’m trying to find a camera baby monitor but they all seem to need wifi and I’ve heard all the scary stories about them

There's no way in hell I would ever have a wifi baby monitor.

We have the ring security system and we use their indoor cameras (you plug in) they are awesome! They are sensory detected so any time baby moves it starts recording and sends an alert to our phones. Also you can watch live, and you can speak through the camera both ways. They are very clear color and night vision HD quality picture and they are affordable at only $35!! It’s the best monitoring system in my opinion.

We refused to do a Wi-Fi one.  My husband works in tech and even with our home system properly locked down, there’s still a risk.  Old school battery powered monitor for this house 👍🏼

I love having WiFi access.  Especially when one of us is out of town or we are on vacation together—we can peek in on them.  Ours are easy and can plug in at grandparents for overnights too!

It’s a no for me. We use babysense, it has 2 cameras, audio and visual. And a ton of settings. Have never had an issue

My husband is in the military so he is extra cautious basically we would just never do a baby monitor with wifi. we have a Motorola one that still has video but honestly the standard walkie talkie style one with no video could work just fine too

Mine uses wifi and we've never had an issue. Been using them for almost 4 years now.

We have a VTech monitor that has wifi capabilities but the setting can be turned off. We don't feel we need wifi capabilities so we opted not to use it
