Boyfriend Not Interested In Sex?

So I’ve been in a relationship for about 4 months and we have sex like once a week. Not a huge problem by itself. However — while getting to know each other in the beginning, he told me how important sex was to him and he’d like to have sex everyday.

We spend about 3-4 nights together each week and we may only have sex once. He doesn’t really initiate, but we spoon every night to fall asleep and he’ll still hold me in his sleep. I try to initiate sometimes, but it’s not something I’m that comfortable with yet. He does jerk off during the time between visits, so the urges are there.

Everything else in our relationship is pretty good. He plans dates and hotel stays just because. He seems to always want me around, we can talk for hours, laugh, joke, he cooks for us sometimes, and he’ll hug me, touch my butt and stuff.

We’ve talked about our sex life and he said it was mainly on him, and that he needed to work on it. But my instinct says if you’re sexually attracted to someone, there shouldn’t be much to work out to have sex with that person. I want the passion 😩

We’re in our early 30s. Should I be concerned? Thoughts?
