Annoyed that my pediatrician misinformed me

Samantha

My baby is 9.5 months now and we just came home from a cranial consultation regarding a helmet to correct her flat head. The person told me that the ideal time would have been 4-6 months, and now she would need to wear it longer (like 3-4 months) and also the results would not be as optimal as if she had started earlier.

I am super annoyed at my pediatrician because I had asked her twice about it when my baby was younger, and even this last visit earlier this week she said that my daughter’s case is mild and should a round itself out but the expert in the craniotomy clinic today said she puts my daughter’s case as “moderate to severe” , and she also said that she doesn’t expect it to change now at this age without wearing a helmet, which is not what my pediatrician said.

When we saw our pediatrician, she wasn’t even going to refer us. It was only after I insisted that she gave us a referral to see the cranial specialist. I feel like our doctor really delayed us from getting timely help. I am so upset and ready to call her out on it but not sure if that is a kind thing to do… what would you guys do?

Has anyone’s baby started wearing the helmet later like after 9 months ? Have you seen good results ?

Thanks very much !
