My 10 month olds temp is 104.8!?!

Saturday night I took him to the ER for a fever of 103.9 and he tested positive for the flu. He had surgery 5 days prior to this but surgery was minor so I wanted to be sure it wasn’t a complication. He seemed to be feeling a little better today but now his fever is back up after he slept for a little bit. Waited 10 minutes after he woke then check and it was this. Waited for another half an hour and checked again and still 104.8. Gave him more medicine but idk. He’s just watching cartoons and isn’t crying too much. Thought maybe he was over heated but we have the air at 68 and he only sleeps in a leg less and a sleeveless onesie and a sip up sleeper

You need to take your baby back to the ER! Putting the air on is not how you treat a fever. This is dangerous to have a fever this high. Also if the meds aren’t cooling him down it’s possible an infection has occurred.

Definitely take babe back to the ER or at the very least give them a call. 
To help keep my babes temps down for meds Motrin has helped the most but also for just general knowledge I wish I had known sooner- if you do skin to skin with your babe it greatly helps to lower fevers. I did it after our Dr. told me to give it a try when my middle had a higher fever as a baby. Been doing it ever since. (I don’t believe that replaces medical care when needed, just something I find cool about our bodies and helpful when babes are feverish.)

My boy had salmonella 3 months ago. We took him to the children’s hospital because the ER didn’t know what they were doing & were just treating us bad. I would get an ￼ opinion from people who work with babies all day. He hit a fever of 103. I heard from someone to put him in cold water for like 10 seconds I know it’s dangerous to do this. I’m not going to lie he  went from 103 to 98. Let him sleep that off & checked him every 30 minutes & the temperature never went back up. But we took him to the children’s hospital because he was bleeding bad from his butt. I would see where a 24/7 children’s hospital is and go there.

The baby needs to go to the ER with a fever that high. I work in the medical profession and a fever that high can cause the child to have a seizure.

There's also a viral infection called Roseola that is 3 or 4 days of a super high fever like that then it breaks an a rash breaks out. My daughter had it as a baby. Nothing to do but medicine and rest. 
Perhaps it's that?

At that temp yes an ER trip is warranted. Do not be scared. My oldest daughter hit 105 a few times and not once did she ever have a febrile seizure, so don’t be fear mongered into that.
