How friendly is “too friendly”?

My husband works in a female dominated industry so he is surrounded by women all day long. However he is only really friendly with one coworker. They text each other about every 3 months and they have caught up twice for coffee, just the two of them. She is attractive and about 6 years younger than him. 
I’m not sure if I’m being paranoid/insecure, so what would you personally feel is inappropriate when it comes to work colleagues?

My husband would not be going on any one on one dates with another woman.

It depends on the dynamic between them, it’s not as simple as a black & white yes/no.
If they talk to each other in a flirty way, and/or he tries to hide it from you when they talk or catch up then it’s possibly inappropriate.
If there’s nothing suspicious then it’s totally fine for men & women to be platonic friends. 
I have a close male friend at work who I think of like a brother, we would often go out for lunch or coffee together just the two of us, and I talk about him often with my partner. Likewise my partner has a few close female friends who he chats to regularly.

I guess it depends on many factors honestly. I've never given a moment's thought as to whether I'm too friendly with my colleagues. I have always naturally gotten on better with males (find em less two faced and bitchy). So I do tend to make fast friendships with my male counterparts. to this end I remain fast friends with a couple of guys I haven't worked with in over 5 years and I do meet up for coffee with them also.
My husband doesn't bat an eyelid. I've never given him cause for concern, he is very aware that the sun in my universe rises and sets with him and there really isn't a man alive that could turn my head. So for us, not an issue.

I talk to my guy friend more than that and it’s been platonic for 10 years now. I don’t think what you’re describing is a huge flag to anything bad going on.

My husband and I have a mutual rule of not spending 1 on 1 alone time with opposite sex. Example I have a guy friend from highschool, when we hang out either his wife or my husband, or both, are also invited. That said, a text and meeting every 3 months or so doesnt sound alarming to me.

For me, it really depends on the situation, but I’m also very comfortable in my relationship so I don’t really think twice about it. My husband has grabbed drinks with his old high school best friend who is female and I’ve gone to dinner with my childhood best friend and we used to text fairly often to stay in touch (we’re on opposite sides of the US and just always have been close, not as much anymore-life gets busy). I’ve also gone to dinner with a high school friend as well, who was also male. Of course i ran it past my husband first but there was no intent behind it other than hanging out with a friend. We move a lot due to his job so catching up with friends isn’t abnormal. He texts his female co-worker and while majority of it is about work, they still catch up every once in a while at lunch, sometimes we all catch up together. Her and her husband both work with my husband so to me theres nothing weird about it. Everyone has their own boundaries and while it’s rare for us to do things separately, if he wanted to catch up with a friend, then so be it. He’s never given me a reason to doubt him. Now if it was a new woman and he constantly texted and spent time with her, i would probably question it a bit more. I don’t think this is a black and white situation. Coffee every blue moon doesn’t raise a red flag to me personally.

My husband has childhood friends who are women, they text a couple times a year to catch up. They don’t go out for coffee or do anything one on one. I haven’t felt the need to hang out one on with with my male friends either since my husband and I started dating. Neither of us see a valid reason for it. Some people wouldn’t have an issue with that though. It all depends on what you are comfortable with.

My fiancé texts with one female coworker but she’s also both of our friends at this point. She’s also our doula that helped deliver our son so there’s a definite comfort level we all have with one another

My husband works with a lot of females as well and is just around many females daily. He would never ask me to do on and one on one “catch up date” with another female. Not unless it was his sister or mom lol! It’s just not respectful and those are our boundaries.
