I believe that people are inherently good and that we are right to be bad. Our society isn’t set up to support that goodness and I stead pushed us to be selfish, manipulative, greedy, etc in order to survive. 
So yeah, I guess I have some faith in humanity, but I have no faith whatsoever in our society.

I am like… a very big history fan. All I want to do is learn about human kind as far back as it can go. This world is so full of history and I WANT IT. 
anyways. So what I’ve learned is that human beings have committed the most unforgivable atrocities. Take a look at history and you literally have no hope for mankind. But then, dig deeper and take a longer look. 
I think humanity’s biggest flaw is that we are born stupid and formidable. I looked into human psychology and went to school for it for a little while. 
Our brains are literally formed by the people and environment around us, and I’m talking it comes down to how your brain physically forms.
Our youth is the most susceptible of our kind. If all of your childhood and youth is spent around terrorists, well buddy you’re going to be a terrorists. 
This is, throughout history, how it’s done. 
Steal the ears of the youth and you have power. 
Another thing that can make human beings commit atrocities in mass, is if you give them no choice. 
Tell me, that If I don’t comply, that you will kill my entire family because you can and will and nothing can stop you …I will do anything you tell me to do, and I KNOW I would. I am not evil though? Right. 
This is a question a lot of people asked themselves throughout history, when all they were doing was protecting their own. 
I actually just re-visited 9/11 and all the internet has to offer about it. I like to re-visit things I have learned about in the past as I age and grow, to feel and perceive them as an older wiser mind. 
What I have just now noticed is what NY as a city did afterwards. There’s a video online, the day after 9/11 
The first shot is of a movie theatre, with a sign “every movie Is free today, grab all the soda and popcorn you want.” And it didn’t stop there. Everything was free, and everyone was outside, nobody wanted to be alone or in silence. It’s literally just a person walking around and recording all of NY. You can see the heaviness on people. They were hurting COLLECTIVELY. ￼they were coming together in ways that probably would have beeb forgotten with time if it weren’t for the invention of cameras. According to residents of NY of that time, it was like that for months. NY became this constant 24/7 community of healing. Their collective voices are the reason as of today, the memorial still stands, as it was almost just built all back up at the death site of thousands. Their the reason why the new World Trade Center is built with a fucking massive concrete core so that it cannot fall. 
You cannot tell me that all of humanity is evil when one group of people attacked another massively and all anyone did afterward was love on eachother. 
Do not remind me of what the US did to innocents after this. I know. As it’s normal for humanity to be atrocious. 
All I am saying is look deeper. We are not all evil. 
If we were, we would not even be capable of empathy. But we are, and as time goes on with all of us having this somewhat new access to record literally everything, hopefully someone like me can look back on us 1000 years from now and say the same. 
Like someone else said, our society is built to divide us. 
But take all of that away. Strip it down and look in between the cracks. You can dig deep and find stories even from the Holocaust of humanity showing it’s best colors.

I have faith that there are good individuals but I do not think that good individuals are the majority. Overall I think humanity is very toxic, selfish, and a a species that will not be around long. I try to be a good person and help others. I’m a medical provider and do my very best. But I have seen very disturbing things in both medical school and residency that lead me to believe that most people do not care about much other than what directly affects them in some way, and most people have an extreme lack of compassion and morality/ethics. On a global scale, if humanity were good as a whole, we absolutely would not have starving people, we would absolutely not be slowly destroying our planet, and we absolutely would not have such abhorrent crime such as rape and child abuse/murder. Unfortunately, millions of people starving around the world are of such little concern to the every day person that I have to believe it is because humans are just inherently selfish and unconcerned unless it becomes their problem.

We are only as successful as we are because we work together. 
Who do you think keeps your lights on. Who do you think keeps clean water coming into your home. Who makes and grows your food?
No one can do all that and more alone. And a squirrel definitely wouldn't do it for you. Lol

I have hope that humanity will be good and that the future will be better. The next generation will learn from thr bad and do better. Do I have faith or trust...no. But I have to believe that it can still be fixed or get better because I have kids who are the future. I cannot just toss my hands up and say "well we all are fucked and everyone is horrible" because my kids deserve more. There is always good and bad in society and life and hopefully the good prevails. I have hope things will always get better but that doesn't mean I have faith in people.

I don't, no. I did someone comment about having some faith in humanity, but none in society, but humans create society. Without humans, there wouldn't be a human society, or societies, for us to live in. We create the structures upon which we live and order ourselves. Over and over throughout history, humanity has proven how evil and corrupt it is. There have been flashes of brilliance and goodness, but overall, humanity is not and has not been impressive left to its own devices.
