Can this be the start of labor?

Question

I was 1.5cm dilated 3 days ago. I am over due and had a NST today. I’m dilated 3cm 60% effaced now and the monitor showed contractions that felt like mild cramping to me. Can this be early labor? The did say baby is still high up. My blood pressure is borderline high so they wanna induce me in 3 days if I don’t go into labor. The doctor did say the contractions are doing something (since I’ve dilated more) so is this how early labor feels? I thought it starts as straight up painful contractions but this is like mild consistent cramping for the last 4 hrs or so. It’s like 2-5 mins apart lasting 30 secs. I do get big breaks like 10-20 mins without it here and there.

Sounds like early labor to me! Every labor is different, with my first it was super painful period like cramps back to back that radiated into my lower back and I felt like I needed to poop. With this last one it felt like a really painful stomach ache and I was violently ill…had no idea I was laboring until I got to labor and delivery.

Hard to say because we are all so different but, no they are not immediately painful. They can actually feel like minor period pains, then strong period pains then become a more intense “this is a contraction” pain. 
I would suggest to keep whatever you have going though, walk, bounce etc.. because although they may be contractions sometime our body stops & goes, stops & goes. So, it best to try to get them to not stop but get stronger.

Definitely early labor. I had mild contractions for about 8hrs with my first & then all of sudden they were really painful & close together & baby was out 23mins after I got to the hospital.
