Do you invest in arms industry stocks?

Question

As the war in Ukraine is ongoing and countries all over the world are increasing their military budgets, Lockheed Martin for example went up +37% compared to one year ago. 
What do you think about investing into companies that produce weapons and military equipment? 
Is there a moral issue according your standard of morality?

No war profiteering is not for me. And financially unless you are the actual arms makers they are not always the best stocks. My husband works in finance and investments and his specialty is things like commodity and stocks acquisition and returns for Individuals. He had talked often about all the people who ask about arms stocks and war related stocks of the last 6 months and has gone in to long and boring detail about why they are not the best idea. But Aldo yes morally it is very wrong to me and no I will not benefit of war.

Not willingly at least. I have a simple IRA that has things I don’t like in the portfolio. Tobacco industries for example, but i haven’t looked at it recently… and wonder that I probably already have some investments connected to war products.
A nice reminder though, I’m currently on a whole new Google search for companies that invest in my values.

I voted no because I don’t invest, but if I did…maybe.  It would depend on the company, who they supply to and what the country stands for.  
I absolutely hate war and at the same time do not want to see countries taken over by fascist regimes, which unfortunately, but realistically means defence weapons are necessary.

I’m not invested and don’t plan to do so, but I know a person who made a fortune by massively investing in Lockheed after 9/11 (America subsequently went into Afghanistan and then into Iraq).
I think when investing into companies like these, you simply cannot control what a regime or administration is using the weapons for. Weapons can be used for „good“/self defense or „bad“/war of aggression.
Now, in the Ukraine/Russia war, the weapons are very important to the Ukrainians to defend their country and their future in liberty and democracy - Back in the days of the Iraq war, the weapons were used to invade Iraq based on false premises and causing all kinds of cruelties.

I don’t invest in stocks because I think it’s all Monopoly money and people get obsessed like gambling. I choose to invest in supplements for my family, stocking our freezer, and buying arms and ammo for ourselves and knowing how to use them. I grew up around guns and I think every child should be raised to handle them properly. But as for war, it’s all the elites playing both sides and profiting no matter how it goes. I’m neither right nor left, I want freedom and to just be left alone and keep my tax dollars

I don’t personally chose arms manufacturers for the stocks I pick, but I honestly have no idea what’s in my basic, work sponsored 401k portfolio.
