My dog died my whole soul hurts

I'm writing on here to know how you made it after dog passed away any encouraging words honestly I just need someone to be here I need to talk to someone else about this instead of holding in all the pain

He's a Lhasa apso we got him on Christmas he was so sweet and full of energy he would sit on my lap he would comfort me when I was sad it's like his mission was to cheer me up we had so many memories together. He was like this little child and he became family to me he would even sit on the couch watch movies with me and hang out wherever I was, I remember taking him on walks we even got to go to a beach he was so happy to experience that in the winter he had a blast he loved the snow it was hilarious because he would jump into huge piles of snow and disappear and dig tunnels and bounce around having a blast running, he was given to out family when I was fifteen and I got to watch him grow I had grown up and had a child and he was there with us and he was sixteen years old

He was a senior dog, my dad and my dog wake up early and they had this routine for years and he took out our dog to the bathroom and he walks to make his coffee then walks back to pick him up but these dogs they went to our yard and they attacked him and it broke my heart I couldn't understand how these dogs would attack a senior dog he passed away and it hurts I wanted him to pass away peacefully not this he didn't deserve this he was so kind so loving we had a kitten show up at our doorstep injured we took the kitty to the veterinarian and treated him when we brought him back our dog took him under his wing and was like a dad to the kitten and he treated everyone and every animal the same he loved everyone

I wish I would of taken these videos of these special moments and more pictures and I wish I could have protected him
