The first few days
This is normal!!!
Remember that latching is more effective than a pump ever will be! pumping should be avoided unless away from babe in the first 6 weeks! Latch on demand or every 2-3 hours!
I am exclusively pumping for my 27 weeker in the nicu! I pump every 2-3 hours during the day and every 3ish hours at night. I did not log my very first pump session which yielded a decent amount (too worn from birth to log). There’s gaps in time as you’ll see because there were times that I only got oozing from the nipple and not enough to measure! This is sooo normal!
It’s normal to have a decent dropfuls the very first feed and then to have very little for a day or two after. Your body is exhausted from lack of food and sleep…not to mention the wreck of delivering a baby. Baby will still get enough!
Milk comes in around 3-7 days after birth.
I’m currently transitioning from colostrum to mature milk.
Baby was born at 6:44pm on October 3rd

I could tell my milk was starting to come in due to that insane breastfeeding hunger! 😂 Last night my sweet nurse gave me a lunch box at midnight while I pumped because I was starving! Plus, my boobs are swollen and sore! I’ve missed this! ❤️
I love love love breastfeeding/pumping! 💪🥹
