Ear tubes?

Any thoughts on this?? Did getting them helped your LO not get ear infections? Our pediatrician mention it might be a good option she said if she gets 1 more in the next two months. But will talk more if she does, she said maybe it won’t occur, but I highly think she will 🙁 She’s soon to be 1. I’m scared and feel bad like I’m doing something wrong that’s causing her ear infections. 😞idk what to do!

How many ear infections has she had this far? Pediatricians tend to be way too conservative when referring to ENT. Recurring ear infections are detrimental to language development. I’m an audiologist and had a kiddo w recurring ear infections. After the third, I took myself to the ENT without their recommendation. Baby got tubes and hasn’t had an ear infection since. My 3 year old has them. She had to get them after having a constant ear infection for 2 months straight last November and December. It's not caused by anything you are doing or not doing, I promise! My brother was prone to having them as a child, as was my daughter's father.

It’s nothing you did or did not do. 
I had tubes done as a child. My husband had them done twice and had his tonsil and adenoids taken out.

My dad, brother, and nephew have all had to get tubes put in their ears. Some people are just more prone to getting ear infections than others. It’s nothing you can really prevent. It just happens. It definitely helped prevent ear infections.
