Is this “shady”

Okay I am SO confused 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

November I’m supposed to be watching my youngest nephew for my brother and his girlfriend while they go to a concert. He mentioned paying me and then a separate occasion a week or two later, his girlfriend did too. I forgot the date of the concert and so I texted my brother to ask again so I don’t schedule appointments for that day(currently pregnant) and I mentioned one last time do not pay me I love watching my nephew(s).

Now I’m receiving texts from his girlfriend extremely upset with me because my brother woke her up out of her sleep and said “why are you offering to pay my sister money to watch ___? That’s so shady.”

I literally don’t feel I did ANYTHING wrong nor do I feel like she was being shady in the slightest when he offered the same? What the absolute heck.
