Have you heard this before?

So in august I went through a miscarriage, I’m currently 7w1d with my rainbow baby! I had my first ultrasound a little bit ago and we saw heart beat. My doctor told me “when we see heartbeat the chance of miscarriage drops to below 5%” 
I thought chance of miscarriage drops when first trimester is over so 14 weeks? I’ve never heard this before. I’m trying not to worry but can’t help it when I’m on here and see miscarriages happening late into first trimester.

Yes I’ve read this too that the chance of mc drops when a heartbeat is visible :) and also drops again the further along you are a you say too x

Yes! My doctor said that if you go in 7-8 weeks and there is a heart beat the chance of MC drops. My doctor said 10% though. But then after the first trimester it’s almost like 3-5% or something like that. Either way, good news :)

Not sure the exact percentage, but most miscarriages happen before the heart beat is able to be found so if you make it to the point where there’s a heartbeat you’ve passed a major hurdle. The next major hurdle is the second trimester. But every single day the baby survives, the risk goes down.

My doc told me this at my ultrasound at 7+4. Although low they saw a heartbeat and said not to worry. I lost my babe shortly after:( Was gone by the next week.
