Understandable or laziness?

Question

If you knew someone who didn’t send their kids to school but “homeschooled” them aka just let them play educational games on their iPad all day and doesn’t actually follow any curriculum or lessons… not because of some dislike of public schools, but because they DO NOT WANT TO WAKE UP IN THE MORNINGS TO TAKE THEM, would you say that’s laziness or understandable? Also, because they live so close to the school, there is no bus route, and they refuse to drive/walk them.

I find it lazy to send them to public school. Most of what is taught isn't necessary anyways. Some kids with severe autism and other disabilities learn the exact way they're teaching their kids so if that's okay for them, why not everyone else? How the hell do you know if they're learning from the apps or not? You don't. You simply don't! Shit  half the schools around me and many everywhere to cut costs are going to tablets and teachers on a screen that are hardly present and ignored the shit out of us most of the time, so I don't see a damm difference.

I homeschool and while I do limit screen time, we follow an unschooling model where we do not follow a curriculum or push assigments (we do a portfolio review as required by our state, but no formal curriculum is required, but it's very relaxed). My kids are actually well above grade level in most subjects when you talk to them and 'quiz' them on their knowledge, their reading levels are advanced, my 10 year old's spelling and geography also advanced, my 8 year old's anatomy and biology knowledge and math skills are advanced, my 6 year old's reading etc all with zero curriculum. Also, I doubt her only reason is to not take them in the mornings, as having your kids home all day is a lot more work than just a morning routine. I do joke with my friends about how happy I am that I dont have to deal with getting up so early to get them to school, and they joke with me how theyre happy they dont have to deal with their kids all day 😅 but I ask you these things because Ive gotten a ton of judgment from peopie who make false assumptions based on tiny snippets of our lives eg sometimes we let them have a little screen time if someone comes over so we can actually talk to the person, then the person is like what so this is what you call homeschooling 🙄 or they ask what curriculum to they use and I explain the unschooling approach and theyre like oh great youre lazy parents with dumb uneducated kids 🙄🙄🙄  and to that I say....mind your own beeswax.🤷‍♀️
